Saracen TRY Rugby 2nd Season Starts June, 2012

2011 was the inaugural season for Saracens "TRY" Rugby.  We are very excited to be introducing younger kids to the TRY version of non-contact and contact rugby; a very safe, easy-to-play game for both boys and girls?  Rugby is simple to understand, organize, teach and especially – play.

The season begins in Mid-May and continues through June 25th, so come out anytime.  It's easy to learn and never too late to try rugby.  Practice will be at Expo Park, click on the button below.

Why Kids Love Rugby

Rugby’s ball handling, running, kicking, and fitness will help any student in other sports.  Rugby has benefited many soccer players.  The Gridiron Coach says, “Many high school football coaches are encouraging their athletes to play rugby because it allows them to improve their footwork, speed, cardio vascular fitness, and it’s a great way to play a contact sport during the spring.  James Naismith invented basketball as a sport for rugby and soccer players to play inside in the winter offseason.

Any boy or girl between the ages of 5 years thru 14 years can play in the
Tag/flag Rugby Youth League (TRY).   There are teams throughout the Denver Metro area, Colorado Springs, Ft. Collins, Boulder, Grand Junction, Aspen, Montrose, extending into the mountains and New Mexico.

Age Groups for Tackle and Flag

We encourage parents and coaches to get involved.  Rugby is a simple game . . . . . . we can help you, help the team.
